How to Check Out a Book:

  1. Go to the 'Check out' app.
  2. Enter the user's barcode or click on 'Patron look-up' to search by name, username, etc. 
  3. Enter the item's barcode.
  4. If the loan is successful without intervention nor a check-out note on the item record, an entry will immediately display on the screen presenting the barcode, title, loan policy, and due date.
    • If intervention is required, read all pop-up messages carefully before proceeding.
  5. When finished checking out all items to this patron, click 'End session' in the bottom, right corner. 


How to Check In a Book:

  1. Go to the 'Check in' app.
  2. Enter the barcode of the item to be checked in.
  3. If the item belongs to a service point which is different from the one associated with your account, a pop-up message will appear telling you to route the book to the appropriate service point.


Change a Due Date on a Loan:

  1. Go to the 'Users' app.
  2. Search for and select the user's account so the third pane displays their account with accordions.
  3. Open the 'Loans' accordion and click on the '# open  loans'.
  4. Find the loan you want to change and click on the ellipses to the right.
  5. Choose 'Change due date'.
  6. Submit a new date in the pop-up window and click 'Save & Close'.


Marking a Loan as Lost

  1. Click on the Users App

  2. On the right side, scroll down and click on Loans

  3. Search for User

  4. Click on User Record

  5. On the right side, scroll down and click on Loans

  6. Click Open Loans

  7. Click on the three dots next to item and choose Declare Lost

  8. Enter Additional Information 

  9. Click Confirm


Marking a Loan as Claims Returned

  1. Click on the Users App

  2. Search for User

  3. Click on User Record

  4. On the right side, scroll down and click on Loans

  5. Click Open Loans

  6. Checkmark item and choose Claim Returned on the top right

  7. Enter Additional Information 

  8. Click Confirm


Add a manual block to a user record

  1. Click on the Users App

  2. On the right side, scroll down and click on Loans

  3. Search for User

  4. Click on User Record

  5. On the right side, scroll down and click on Patron Blocks

  6. Click Create Block

  7. Enter Display Description

  8. Enter Staff Only Information

  9. Enter Message to Patron

  10. Select Expiration Date 

  11. Check mark Block Actions (Borrowing, Renewals, Requests)

  12. Save and Close


Add a manual fee/fine to a user

  1. In the ‘Users’ app, search for the user using the search box and filters

  2. Click on the user record you want to add the fee/fine to.

  3. Click on ‘Actions’ then ‘Create fee/fine’

  4. Fill out the required fields and appropriate information.

  5. If user is paying at time of creation, click on ‘Charge & pay now’ otherwise click on ‘Charge only’


Create a user record

  1. Go to the “Apps” dropdown.

  2. Click on "Users"

  3. Click the blue "Actions" drop down button on the right side

  4. Click on "+New"

  5. Enter User Information: Last Name*, First Name, Patron group*, Status*, Expiration date, Barcode

  6. Enter Contact Information: Email*, Phone, Preferred contact*

  7. Click "Save & Close" button


* = required text entry boxes; note that a user barcode will be required for all circulation functionality


Edit a user record

  1. From “Check out” mode, Scan patron card or use Patron look-up

  2. Open patron's record 

  3. Click on the "Actions" blue button on the top right side

  4. Click on Edit from the "Actions" drop-down menu

  5. Make any changes to the user's record

  6. Click on "Save & close" button
